The Memory Makers Big Band

Memory Makers Big Band has temporarily disbanded because of COVID and Hurricane Ian which flooded out many homes in the area, including those of Band Members. We are now a year into recovery from Ian, and several members have not yet been able to get back into their homes.

We will leave the web page open, and the music recordings available for your listening pleasure.

Please visit the Riverboat Jazz Band page noted above. That sister band is still performing, and picking up the Dance jobs previously performed by the Memory Makers.

Hope to see you all soon.

Directed by Ron Hagemeyer, the Memory Makers focus includes the musical charts of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey and Duke Ellington, and new hits from Elvis to Buddy Rich. The versatility of the band shows through in sweet, swinging and solid up-tempo toe-tappers.

Behind the music stands you will find music educators, professional performers, engineers, symphony and corporate managers, physicians, rocket scientists, clergy and business owners. Drawn by the magnet of Southwest Florida, the glue that holds these performers together is a love of the big band sound and their dedication to keeping the music alive for future generations.

More ballroom than beer hall, more stage show than street corner, the Memory Makers Big Band is available for club dates, concerts, dances and socials. However, if no dance floor is available the Memory Makers assume no responsibility for toe-tapping, clapping or dancing in the aisles.

And when a tear of joy is brushed aside, listeners and dancers alike realize that they are part of the show. The musicians make the music, but the people revel in the memories. Together, audience and musicians, comprise the Memory Makers Big Band. Truly, the Memory Makers provide the best value in authentic big band entertainment in South West Florida.

  1. It is so wonderful that you have acknowledged the hard work and dedication that my father, Steve Mondora, put forth in reviving The Memory Makers. He thrived, not only while working on the reorganization, but while playing his trumpet in the band. Although your gigs were always so enjoyable, you continue to blossom with age. I know you are making my Dad proud! Betsy Mondora
